Wireless Firmware Engineer

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

Jeeva is looking for an experienced wireless firmware engineer to join the core technical team. As part of Jeeva’s embedded design team, you will be implementing, and testing/validating firmware on wireless SoC’s, DSPs and/or software defined radios for a highly reliable, secure, and manageable wireless platform which employs Jeeva’s unique passive backscatter technology. You will be using industry standard embedded platforms and toolchains and will be expected to document code and use version control systems. You will be part of a small but fast-moving cross-functional group engineering team with significant existing design expertise and high expectations.

The position requires proven experience, strong communication and management skills and ability to think outside the box. In addition to the skills listed below, an ideal candidate should thrive in a fast-paced startup environment and be excited and motivated to build wireless systems for new high-impact IoE applications.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or a related discipline.

  • Minimum of 3 years’ embedded design experience in modifying or implementing original/proprietary network stacks on wireless SoCs (Wi-Fi, BLE, etc), software designed radios and/or FPGAs.

  • Experience working with drivers for various communication protocols (especially USB, SPI, I2C and UART), system-level integration, and low power design.

  • Embedded C, C++ familiarity and development experience with MSP430/ARM microcontrollers, software radios or similar platforms.

  • Experience with build systems and scripting languages.

  • Hands on experience in prototype bring-up, debugging and functional verification.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Knowledge of wireless fundamentals such as multi-path, interference, link budget analysis, etc.

  • Experience working with DSPs for wireless communication.

  • Familiarity with physical layer protocols (FSK, O-QPSK, FSK, OFDM, etc.), channel estimation techniques and multi-antenna topologies such as MIMO.

  • Experience with design, architecture and layout of printed circuit boards.

Firmware Engineer

  • Experience modifying or implementing original/proprietary network stacks.
  • Computer/network security experience or training/certification.
  • Experience working with networked devices (Wi-Fi, TCP/IP, etc).
  • Experience with schematic design and layout of printed circuit boards.
  • Experience with build systems and scripting languages.

  • Hands on experience in prototype bring-up, debugging and functional verification.

Hardware Systems Integration Engineer

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

Jeeva is looking for a recent college graduate to join our core product development team as an hardware systems integration engineer. As part of Jeeva’s engineering team, you will primarily be responsible for designing, implementing, and testing hardware on printed circuit boards and flexible substrates. Additionally, you will also work with cross-functional groups on hardware-software integration and test, verify and document the final wireless communication product delivered to the customers. You will be part of a small but fast-moving engineering team with significant existing design expertise and high expectations.

The position requires proven experience, strong communication and management skills and ability to think outside the box. In addition to the skills listed below, an ideal candidate should thrive in a fast-paced startup environment and be excited and motivated to build wireless systems for new high-impact IoE applications.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related discipline.
  • Experience with schematic design and layout of embedded board-level design such as integrating micro controllers, power management, sensors and I/O devices.

  • Hands on experience in prototype bring-up, debugging and functional verification

  • Experience working with drivers for various communication protocols (especially USB, SPI, I2C and UART), system-level integration, and low power design.

  • Embedded C, C++ familiarity and development experience with MSP430/ARM microcontrollers or similar platforms

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with design and testing of RF front ends, antennas and RF components such as matching networks, waveguides, directional couplers and radio systems on Printed Circuit Boards.

  • Experience in digital or mixed-signal design principles including designs using processors, FPGAs, operational amplifiers, and filters.

  • Experience with wireless SoCs (Wi-Fi, BLE) and working with networked devices (Wi-Fi, TCP/IP, etc).
