Firmware Engineer

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

Jeeva is looking for a motivated firmware engineer to join the test & integration team. As part of Jeeva’s test & integration team, you will be implementing and testing/validating firmware on wireless SoC’s for a highly reliable, secure, and manageable wireless platform which employs Jeeva’s unique passive backscatter technology. You will be using industry standard embedded platforms and toolchains and will be expected to document code and use version control systems. You will be part of a small but fast-moving cross-functional engineering team with significant existing design expertise and high expectations.

The position requires proven experience, strong communication skills and ability to think outside the box. In addition to the skills listed below, an ideal candidate should thrive in a fast-paced startup environment and be excited and motivated to build wireless systems for new high-impact IoT applications.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or a related discipline.

  • Embedded C, C++ familiarity and development experience with MSP430/ARM microcontrollers, software radios or similar platforms.

  • Hands-on experience in prototype bring-up, debugging and functional verification.

  • Experience with continuous integration and automated testing frameworks.

  • Experience with build systems and scripting languages.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience working with drivers for various communication protocols (especially SPI and UART).

  • Experience with Python and Git.

  • Experience with wireless SoCs (Wi-Fi, BLE).

  • Experience working with networked devices (Wi-Fi, TCP/IP, etc).
